5 Restaurants That Deliver Desserts to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
4 months ago
You’re home, it’s late and you’re too tired to take your car and face the hustle and bustle of Cairo –but your sweet tooth is just screaming for a good dessert. We’ve all been there!
Instead of resorting to the same ol’ McDonald’s sundae –which is usually half-melted by the time it arrives at your doorstep anyway– why not give yourself a delicious treat? Anything short of a surgical procedure can be delivered in the capital, and that includes some truly mouthwatering desserts. Next time you’re craving something sweet, these restaurants will make sure to save the day.
You’ve probably tried the classic Chocolate Fondant before, making sure that each spoonful gets a little bit of cake, a little bit of sauce, and some vanilla ice cream to balance out all that sweetness. Well, that little volcano of perfection can be delivered right to your doorstep, along with the rest of the desserts they offer –which include a cookie counterpart, FYI. Pair these desserts with a good movie and you’ll never want to leave the house again.
Locations: New Cairo, Maadi, Zamalek, Heliopolis and Sheikh Zayed.
Egyptians are certainly innovative, aren’t they? Waffles are supposed to be topped with maple syrup and butter, but we turned those little breakfast treats into dessert sandwiches filled with chocolate chips, marshmallows, nuts, fruit and anything else we could cram in there. Get a Belgian Waffle and put nutella on half and peanut butter on the other half –you’ll pay a little extra, but you’ll thank us later.
Locations: Masaken Sheraton, Nasr City, New Cairo, Zamalek, Dokki, Mokattam and Maadi.
When this place first opened, no one believed it would last longer than the month of Ramadan. Kunafa is a very seasonal dessert, and it’s tough marketing it as a year-round favorite –but they did it! The Crunchy Nabulsi is the best option for people who are always conflicted between ‘sweet’ and ‘too sweet.’ Gooey cheese, crunchy kunafa and sweet syrup –who could possibly say no to that?
Locations: Heliopolis, Nasr City and Maadi.
Feteer is sort of the Egyptian equivalent of pizza. But –like the waffles– we just couldn’t settle for it as is. Not only does feteer include ten times the variety of toppings (fillings?) as a pizza, but there are also sweet types of feteer guaranteed to win over anyone, regardless of their nationality. Try one with cream, milk and sugar for a timeless favorite, or go for red velvet, nutella and cream if you’d like something fancier.
Locations: Zamalek, Sheikh Zayed, New Cairo, Smart Village, Maadi

Sorry, only Maadi residents will be able to enjoy this delicious menu from home –the rest will have to make the drive. Welcome to every sweet tooth’s heaven: Nutella Peanut Butter Molten Cake, Nutella Lovers Jar, Oreo Pomegranate Chocolate Bites –and the list goes on and on. The restaurant offers a savory menu as well in case you need a break between bites.
